This new engine also has a few neat features such as the options to export your game to Android iOS, and HTML5 (for embedded browser games) as the previous engines only exported to Windows. Eventing comprises of using an event and a number of different event commands to create things like an NPC (Non-Playable Character) who can talk and walk to things like a chest which will open and close to give you items.Īs well as this there is the option to expand on pretty much everything (within reason) through plugins created using JavaScript (a new feature as the previous engines used a form of Ruby called RGSS or Ruby Game Scripting System). Well to put it simply RPG Maker MV is a game development engine for RPGs (Role-playing games) specifically of the JRPGs (Japanese Role-playing games) genre. So some of you may be wondering just what is this RPG Maker MV I’ve been talking about? I am also considering tying it in to my currently in development Fantasy World/Universe (see my other blog for more info on that)Īny thoughts on the game idea are welcome. This game revolves around a small normally peaceful island. This will only be small game that will contain only one town and six small dungeons. Since the engine hasn’t been released yet I will use this post to talk about one of the games I will be creating in RPG Maker MV.
